For any arts enthusiast venturing to the east coast in the near future, Philadelphia offers a wide variety of art, music, and theater performances to stimulate the senses. The following are some attractions that will create an unforgettable experience for spectators.
The arts scene adds to the city’s vibrant atmosphere. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the largest in the U.S. featuring historical and contemporary art. The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, located on North Broad Street and known for its contemporary art, also features work by early artists such as Winslow Homer. The National Liberty Museum will appeal to the patriot in everyone and pieces like the “Flame of Liberty” reflect its central theme of truth and liberty. This abstract work is a larger than life 3D sculpture of intertwining glass tubes.
In addition to museums, the performing arts scene in Philadelphia is not to be taken lightly. For a modest price, visitors can sit down at the Kimmel Center and view productions like “Babes in Toyland” or listen to the Philadelphia Orchestra.
With its vibrant arts scene, it’s easy to see why artists, musicians, and actors are falling in love with the “city of brotherly love”.

Well set your securitychoice san jose system and hop on that plane – there are some great art exhibits here right now!
The Philadelphia Museum of Art always has a wide variety of current exhibits ranging from the grotesque to the thought provoking. It’s breaking new ground for art in this part of Pennsylvania and it’s open late some days which makes for a great on-trip date night.
First Friday is a great attraction set forth by many of the best galleries in town. They offer free admission as well as light refreshments on the first Friday of every month – stroll through them all to get a feel for the city’s thriving and diverse art scene.
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts is a well-known gallery space in the heart of the city and they like to tackle social and political issues with their exhibits.

Philadelphia is a city with a rich love of culture! The city has long been known for its rich love of musical heritage and performance.

Classical and chamber music is a thriving scene in the area boasting many venues and groups. The Opera Company of Philadelphia, the American Theater Arts for Youth, Curtis Institute of Music, Mann Center for Performing Arts, Academy of Music, and Bach Festival of Philadelphia all demonstrate the height of quality of music that is known for its excellence. Additionally, the Philadelphia Orchestra is world-renowned and recognizable for works such as the recording of Disney’s Fantasia.

Early years of Rock and Roll began in Philadelphia with performers such as Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon. American Bandstand with Dick Clark aired directly from Philadelphia radically changing popular music history allowing contemporary artists to be aired nation-wide through television.

When it comes to more contemporary styles of music, Jazz, R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop are alive and thriving in the City of Love. The John W. Coltrane Cultural Society and West Oak Lane Jazz Festival create a venue for the world’s leading talents in jazz music. Popular artists such as Grammy-award winners Boyz II Men and Will Smith both hail from and began their careers in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, is located along the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers. Philadelphia is an epicenter of American history, independence, and arts and culture. It rivals Boston, Massachusetts in its number of historically significant sites and cultural attractions. However, Philadelphia is not just steeped in history and bygone days; it has a lively, modern, and cosmopolitan feel, and is host to an array of modern day sports’ teams.

The Liberty Bell is Philadelphia’s iconic symbol. Nobody can think of Philly without picturing the cracked bell; it is as synonymous with the city as a Philly cheesesteak or a soft pretzel. The Liberty Bell is the ultimate symbol of American independence. Today, it is housed in a glass chamber between 5th and 6th street, near Independence Hall. No history buff can take a trip to Philadelphia without paying a visit to the Liberty Bell.

Philly is also known for its art museums. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, built in 1876, has a large collection of European Impressionism and 18th century American art. The Rodin Museum is also close by. It is located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. For the art and history enthusiast, Philly is the place to be.

In many major cities around the country there are beautiful things to look at and enjoy and the city of Philadelphia is no exception.

This old and wise city boasts a mixture of experiences and expression of art that has been a staple since its founding. The museums and cultural events, restaurants and out of town venues, the waterways and statues all give the casual or regular visitor an eye-full of reflection that cannot be found elsewhere.

For those who live and work in Philadelphia, the art and artists may become second nature. If one is visiting the city for the first time there is a wow moment that can only be expressed by a fresh pair of eyes.This/tag helps explain it more.

Looking at the Liberty Bell and visiting Independence Hall, allows reflection from a time when freedom was hard-fought but can now be enjoyed by all. There is even art in the lecture halls of the universities, in the courthouse and its corridors, about the halls of justice and the many rooms that are visited by members each and every day.

Some may take this privilege for granted but thankfully, all can enjoy the many rewards of free expression of art in Philadelphia.

Some people might not think that art and liberty go hand in hand but the fact is they do. Everyone knows that there is so much that the city of Philadelphia can be proud of and one section of this is the fan arts and culture. In our city of Philadelphia we have it all. We have some of the finest artists when it comes to performing arts, art shows and local artists.

One of the best things about the show case offered by local artists is that they take pride in their art, talent and the city of Philadelphia. The time and talent that each artist shares with people who come to their show is just amazing.

If you have not been able to get out to see any of the activities that are going on here in the city now is a great time. You will see that we have museums that offer a number of unique experiences as well as art shows and all kinds of shows at the performing arts centers and so much more.

Many of these events are family friendly and can be used as an educational experience for people who home school their children or even for children who are in public and private school. Support your local arts today.

Imagine for a moment that you are walking down your favorite street. You have been transported to Philadelphia for a moment. As you look around, you notice that everything is brightly colored, that artwork seems to be everywhere. Philadelphia is a vibrant, thriving art community.

You are walking down the street and see a sign for a local art exhibit. You pop in only to realize that the exhibit is for a budding local artist. The artist views her work as an expression of the human body. She uses everything you can imagine to show an appreciation for the human body, focusing on the female body and nature. You can see life within her work.

You can already see how artistic Philly really is, but you don’t expect what you see next. You walk to the street corner looking for a trash can to throw away the coffee cup you’ve been holding and you find a trash collector. It’s been painted! A local artist is painting the trash cans in the area to have mouths and monster-like shapes. They are colorful and fun, encouraging people to throw away their trash.

Is there anything in Philadelphia that isn’t an art form?
