The Beaver College Art Gallery is a nationally recognized showcase for contemporary art in the greater Philadelphia area. Founded in 1974, the gallery is located at the Spruance Art Center within a renovated power station built by architect Horace Trumbauer (1893). During its nearly twenty-five year history, the gallery has presented over 100 individual and thematic exhibitions showcasing both local and international talent. A short list of representative shows includes exhibitions and projects by: Jennifer Bolande, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Ap. Gorny, Donald Lipski, Donald Moffett, Robert Morris, Elizabeth Murray, Rona Pondick, Ken Price, Richard Prince, Kay Rosen, James Welling, Fred Wilson, Yukinori Yanagi, Daisy Youngblood, and Meyer Vaisman.

A thematic exhibition entitled "The Sea and The Sky", a transatlantic collaboration between Beaver College Art Gallery and the Royal Hibernian Academy Gallagher Gallery, Dublin, Ireland. The show co-presents regional and international artists who concentrate on the subject of the sea and sky as explored in a range of media and format. The show will travel from Beaver College to the Royal Hibernian Academy. A catalogue with an essay by Susan Stewart and a conversation by the co-curators, as well as educational programming accompany the project.

Project Dates: May 1999 - September 2000
