Project: Dirt on Delight: impulses that form clay
This exhibition will present the work of 25 artists who create significant work in clay, such as Kathy Butterly, Nicole Cherubini, Ken Price, and Beverly Semmes. The artists in the show span the full spectrum of conventional delineations between fine arts, crafts, and outsider practices. In bringing them together around a unifying material and the concept of impulse, this exhibition poses an expansive and critical approach to issues surrounding craft itself. Internationally recognized crafts scholar and curator Glenn Adamson, Head of Graduate Studies in the Research Department at the Victoria and Albert Museum, is a consulting curator to this exhibition and will also contribute to its catalogue.
