Maria Magdalena Campos Pons
Spoken Softly with Mama, 1997
Installation with overall view, and details

Campos-Pons’ Spoke Softly with Mama, part of a series of works entitled History of People who were not Heroes, explores issues of Diaspora, expatriation, gender, and race.
In this multi-media installation, she meditates, using a personal narrative to explore ways in which history and tradition are passed from generation to generation and collective memory is preserved in everyday objects.
