Project: (Re)Print, will begin a critical dialogue about the ways in which printmaking has become a key tool in contemporary artistic practice through a combination of three artist residencies and projects that will result in an experimental publication, exhibition, and symposium. Led by curator and scholar Salah Hassan, “(Re)Print” will pursue this investigation in partnership with the leading contemporary artists Magdalena Campos-Pons, Bernie Searle, and Rachid Koraichi. Within the context of the increased merging of printmaking, photography, and digital media, this project will also focus upon three central themes: printmaking as community, printmaking as production, and printmaking as communication.
Project Dates: July 2007-December 2007
