James A. Michener Museum Project: An exhibition entitled George Nakashima and the Modernist Moment, resituating the work of this internationally recognized designer and craftsman within the context of the European modernist design tradition as exemplified by Finn Juhl, Alexander Noll, Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Charlotte Perriand, and Jean Prouve. A comprehensive catalogue, lecture series, and tour program of the Nakashima studio will be presented in conjunction with the exhibition. Project Dates:June 2001-September 2001
